WG or Studio? Choosing the Right Setup for Berlin
A WG (Wohngemeinschaft) means a private room in a shared flat with a communal kitchen and bathroom — typically €400–650/month all-in, and usually the cheapest way to live centrally in Berlin. Listings are concentrated on WG-Gesucht and Kleinanzeigen (see Platforms), but rooms are also the most contested listings in the city, often drawing dozens of applications within hours.
A studio (1-Zimmer-Wohnung) gives you your own kitchen, bathroom and front door.
